Encouraged

It's great reading your comments and feeling somewhat home. Thanks. This morning's breakfast (zaftrak) was cornfkakes and warm milk, ham, cheese and stale bread, hot dogs, warm apple juice. We were full for the first time. Sleep was great last night, and we woke refreshed. It's 12:00pm and still no word about the MOE (Ministry of Education). It has been great to talk with other families. We all get updates of each others' status from time to time. Such a blessing to have them around. It's hot!

Stevyn, you were all right. The russians like borstch (sp?), a beet soup. The manager of the hotel mentioned that meat (pork, beef, lamb) and starch (rice, potatoes) are common.

Den- Cue Ball!

We are in the lobby listening to a western song as background, can't remember the title, but seems weird in this setting. Off to enjoy the air conditioning of our room.

Jonah I can't wait to tell Caleb what you had for breakfast. He is still sleeping this morning (around 8:30 am now). This is the latest he has slept. He finally did take a bath last night (he's been showering). He really liked it and plans to do it again 'someday.' I told him that Nona visited Justin at Camp yesterday and Justin wanted to come home as he isn't really connecting with anyone and they kept him up all night. He is really wanting to get with Caleb. Caleb told me he bets Justin would be fine if he could be there. Today they are bringing the camp group into the pool from 12 to 3 to swim. I'm going up there to check on Justin and to see if Caleb can go in and swim too (that's if Caleb wants to. He may only want to do it 'someday'.) I will sit by the fence on a lawn chair and keep an eye on them. Had the very best time with Matthew and Katy last night. Caleb said hello to them, then he and Sarah stayed in the living room and watched Night at the Museum, as I had told him we were going to have counseling in the family room. When Matt and Katy left Caleb rushed into the room and said, "I'm so glad I can come in here again. Meemom, want to watch me play Wii?"

I have heard that question many times. He plays and I comment on how great and skilled he is. Today he will reach Pro Level. I know this will help him in life someway--to be a pro I mean. I told him most people don't reach pro until they're sixteen.

Okay, here was Finn's finale last night. I was doing dishes and I heard a crash against the door. Out of the clear blue Finn had hurled his body against the door, I suppose in an effort to open it. Well, it opened about two inches. He stood there bewildered. Having opened it, he didn't know what to do. I said, Okay buddy, cage time. He hasn't tried it this morning, but I was sitting in my rocker in the greenhouse and he stood outside looking at me and licking the window. I had to laugh. He's really the cutest monster ever. He's working on a plastic milk jug as we speak. The dumpster has proved to be a fascinating toy box. He's so darn happy. I told your dad (Grumpa or Grumpy Pa)to watch Finn and learn. He gets a kick out of him as Finn has been a great help with Dad's redoing the pond. I look outside and Dad is in the pond smoothing out the liner, and Finn is splashing all around him. It's just the best.

One thing more, last evening Caleb was again making his appeal to Nicole not to go out with Aaron. He tried the, "i'm family," routine again, but she was unimpressed. So he told her, "Aunt Steven is a better Aunt than you." Well you should have seen the delight on his face. We all hooted. Nicole said, "What about Nona?"--as if she could surely be a better aunt than Nona. Caleb said, "Still Better." Then he looked at me and with the most wicked glee said, "I love arguments. Especially about who's the best Aunt and stuff."

I was so proud.
