Meeting Little Solnishka

We actually met her today! We learned medical information, habits, and personality. She was unsure about us, but didn't cry. Since she's never been around men, Jonah gets an extra serious face. This afternoon we will receive a translation of medical records, and send medical information to our doctor and wait to hear back. We feel extremely confident that she is healthy, though. We get to visit again at 4:00 here. Linda and Marie, call us after 12:00 your time, and we should be in our room.

I see you were so excited, you posted the same thing about a hundred times!

I'm so excited to. I was so worrried that you wouldn't get to meet her. I can't imagine the roller coaster of emotions you must be going through. Back here, we're on pins and needles.

Did you find out her age?
Did you go the orphanage to meet her?
Did you take a picture?

I know that there's too much to tell in a short blog, but we're hungry for more information!

Praise God!

We are praising God this morning for His blessings in this process. We will call you later. We want details!

I have to tell you about our day yesterday. Dave & I went out in the golf cart to take the dogs for a run about 7:30. We had been off the path so we could get a look at the blackberries growing near the woods. I saw something moving out of the corner of my eye and we backed up to see what it was. By then it had moved on and we thought nothing more about it and headed through the tall grass to go home. Of course the 3 dogs are right behind us as we turn around. We got up to the cedar trees at the crest of the hill and we see a skunk waddling along with 3 big dogs making a commotion at the business end of the skunk. If we had obedient dogs that come when called, we would not have had a problem, but we don't, soooo you can guess what happened next. Gidget, the youngest and dumbest of the 3, got the brunt of the spray, but they all got it in the face. What a stinky mess we have now!

I was almost nervous checking the site this morning. We kept calculating the time difference. We are SO happy for you and can't wait to hear all about her - I'm sure you'll post lot's more info as you recieve it. We'd been praying that somehow God would prepare her little heart for you, and are so glad she didn't cry! Will you get to see her again?

I have tears in my eyes from reading of your experience. I can't wait to meet Solnishka. She is in for such a treat, getting to know her new family. I saw Caleb at Grandma Linda's house. He's doing fine--hanging out in his boxers, deliberating when's the best time to drink his daily soda.
God bless you both.
