Moscow, Again

While your Monday is just beginning, we are trying to figure out where our’s went. We’ve survived another flight to Moscow. I wouldn’t describe the 10 hour flight as enjoyable, but definitely more bearable than our last. We’re staying in the Marriott Hotel Tverskaya tonight. Upon arrival we commenced “Operation Sleep”. Now we are trying to build the courage to go out and make fools of ourselves as we attempt to order dinner. We fly to Astrakhan tomorrow afternoon, but hope to see the Kremlin and Red Square before departure.
It’s midnight here and we finally bought an hour online. We did manage to find food. During the search for a hotel, we thought we would be closer to the Red Square, but we are actually about two city blocks from our hotel that we stayed in last time. So we are somewhat familiar with our surroundings. We couldn’t bring ourselves to return to the restaurant where the famous “pointing episode” began. Upon much searching and exploring we found a restaurant called Sbarro’s Pizza. It was great authentic Russian pizza and drinks. Veggie pizza (like it should be), beer, and water.
The weather here is wonderful ! It’s about 70 deg and partly cloudy, very comfortable for me and somewhat chilly for you know who. It is good to be back in Moscow with it’s smells and sounds and general crowdedness. We actually cannot wait to get to Astrakhan tomorrow. Astrakhan is more accessible by foot. Time to move to our new home (blah).
Sounds like “the grandson” has started off with a big bang. Love to you all!

We can't wait for you to have Lillia in your arms! Our prayers are with you as you make this journey, and with the grandparents and Caleb! May God bring you all back together soon.

KB told us all about Jacob and the demo derby yesterday. He was really impressed with the #10 car that won the derby. It was a tough car. He didn't know what kind of car it was but it was probably a Ford because Ford's are "built Ford tough, you know." This morning we found our nitch on his list of people and it is just below Linda and John because they let him do "whatever" he wants and we don't. Oh well, second best ain't bad. He isn't eating much yet but if that continues we have the M&Ms and DrPepper breakfast in reserve. We wrestled yesterday and I have a couple bruises to prove it. I am not as fun as dad because he thinks I'm not "really" sorry when I accidently hurt him and his dad is. I promised to be more sincere and things were okay after a brief hug. Our fishing trip lasted about 6 minutes. The first minute KB caught a 2 pound catfish and a nice bluegill. The next five minutes we spent packing up the gear 'cause he was ready to go swimming. Only Playstation keeps his attention for a long time. He lets me play but constantly berates my ability. I feel like the Gabby Hays character in the old tv westerns. You know, he is the sidekick that always took the bullet for the hero.
The local pool was fun today. It has two large water slides. "Come on Papa lets go on the slide again." Four stories of stairs and no other kids to play with makes for a pooped Papa. I think unlimited Playstation is looking better and better.
Tomorrow could be an afternoon run to the movies. "UnderDog" sounds like a restful movie...
More later...

Glad to see you made it safely to Russia. I am sure you are counting the hours until you have your daughter. I hope all of your paperwork and other "red tape" goes well. I am excited for both of you I will keep you in my prayers!

Glad you arrived safely. Caleb was a tired boy last night and was in bed by 8:30. I think our goal for the next few weeks is to keep boy and dogs tired!

Papa Dave & Caleb have been out snake hunting this evening. I don't know why they are so concerned about sharing their swimming hole with snakes. After all they are only about 15" long. They have also set a trap for the raccoon who has been invading my garden. He carried off all my melons last week and has gone to work on the tomatoes now.

Stevyn & I just sit and roar with laughter as Papa & Caleb play Star Wars. Caleb just says "Come on Papa." He doesn't explain how things work very well and gets frustrated when Papa is going in a different direction and doesn't know what's going on. Caleb said he reached a new high score today and got to buy the Emperor, whatever that means.

Be thankful you are somewhere that is cool because we are anything but cool here. I think the weathermen are predicting 100 by Wed. or Thurs!

We're praying that you will leave Astrakhan on time or even earlier than expected.
